It’s certainly been a minute. My instinct is to say “too long”, but on my first day of my 40’s I am going to attempt to stay in my conviction that there is a season for everything, and I have not in fact had the capacity over the past year to hold the kind of space that Misfit Mingles so deserves.

Our theme this Mingle is Surrender. In contrast to the often intensely climactic energy usually associated with Midsummer, I’ve often found it to be an invitation to surrender simply to what is in the world. To the heat, the beauty in bloom before the hard work of the harvest, a more feminine, introspective energy. A time to rest but to rest outdoors and soak in the natural world. Perhaps it’s the season of my life, but I feel a slow down this time of year, different to Samhain, but still an embodied connection to light and colour and life.

So we invite you to surrender in to…

• A hearty brunch from field to table
• Sitting in circle under a bell tent in nature
• Silent reflection
• Wisdom from Dee and the land and how to connect more deeply

• An optional Sauna and cold plunge (held after the Mingle - dependent on min. numbers of 6 and additional €20 per person)

Misfits was always meant to be accessible to everyone, and that hasn’t changed. What has changed is that I quit my day job in the interim and I’m attempting to make a modest living from art and community building, and I want to make sure collaborators are fairly paid too. So I’ve created a new pricing structure.

There will always be a solidarity rate: pay what you can, or nothing if you can’t. No questions asked. Please use it if you’re unwaged, on leave, or if your funds are simply eaten up by the cost of living.

If you have a bit of surplus, the standard rate helps cover costs. If you have more than that, a higher tier helps someone else come for free.

I’m also always open to barter. Rich in goods or skills but not cash? Just reach out.

This is the true cost of showing up. Covering most of what it takes to put a Mingle together

Sustainer €45
You’re doing okay, and spending a little more doesn’t sting. This keeps solidarity spots open for others.

You have genuine surplus and you want to use it well. Choosing this means someone else gets to come for free.
